The Hong Kong Jockey Club has allocated over HK$500 million to support the equestrian events at the 15th National Games.
As the sole partner sponsor for the Hong Kong Competition Region, HKJC’s initiatives encompass volunteer service programs, community engagement activities, and ensuring access for underprivileged groups and youth to attend the events.
Additionally, the club is providing comprehensive support to the Guangdong Competition Region, particularly in technical areas related to the equestrian events in Shenzhen’s Guangming District.
A key component of HKJC’s involvement is its dedication to anti-doping initiatives, with its Racing Laboratory commissioned by the China Anti-Doping Agency set to oversee sample collection and testing for competing horses.
The laboratory has integrated artificial intelligence into its testing processes, enabling efficient analysis of the large volume of test results from each horse. This enhances the reliability of outcomes and allows chemists to focus on innovative solutions to emerging doping control challenges.
“The club is committed to upholding the integrity of sport by providing its consistently high-standard testing services for the 15th National Games, ensuring the fair conduct of the equestrian events,” said Emmie Ho, head of the laboratory.
In addition to these efforts, HKJC has focused on venue design and supported horse welfare through veterinary services and farrier assistance, while also guiding stable management. These initiatives are complemented by the club’s community outreach activities aimed at promoting equestrian sports, further enhancing the overall success of the Games.
