In a targeted anti-vice operation on Thursday afternoon, officers from the Mong Kok Police District, under operation "STEMPICKER," raided a residential unit on Fife Street, dismantling a suspected prostitution.
During the raid, authorities arrested a 53-year-old local man surnamed Wong on suspicion of managing a vice establishment.
He has been formally charged with one count of "keeping a vice establishment" and will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts on August 8.
Police seized multiple pieces of evidence from the premises, including accounting ledgers, condoms, and towels.
According to Section 139 of the Hong Kong Laws, "Keeping a Vice Establishment", any person who keeps any premises, vessel, or place as a vice establishment; or manages or assists in the management, or otherwise operates or controls any premises, vessel, or place kept as a vice establishment commits an offense. Upon conviction, the maximum penalty is a fine and imprisonment for 10 years.
Additionally, the police urge the public to abide by the law and strictly comply with the relevant regulations. The police will continue to enforce the law rigorously and combat all illegal activities.
