Burnt body found at Inspiration Lake

Police are investigating the identity of a burnt corpse discovered at Lantau Island's Inspiration Lake on Sunday afternoon.

At 3pm today, staff at the Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre reported finding a burnt corpse by the lakeside.

Sources indicate that a husband and wife discovered the burnt corpse of an unidentified gender lying at the base of a tree while jogging near the center.

Authorities did not find any personal belongings of the deceased or any fire accelerants in the area.
