Two individuals were rescued after a boat caught fire early Sunday morning at the Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter.
At around 6 am today, police received several reports of multiple boats ablaze in the Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter.
Upon arrival, rescuers discovered that at least four boats were on fire. Firefighters quickly deployed two hoses and a breathing apparatus team to extinguish the flames and successfully rescued two people from the scene.
The incident occurred at the Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter, opposite the Sam Shing Estate.
The area was engulfed in flames, and thick smoke billowed into the air during the incident.
Sources indicate that the fire started when a man, reportedly the owner of one of the boats, refueled his boat, which suddenly burst into flames. The owner immediately jumped into the sea to escape and was subsequently rescued.
The fire also spread to two nearby vessels. Observations at the scene revealed that approximately three small boats were burned in the incident.
