Meituan launches drone delivery system at Futian Port

Meituan has successfully launched a drone delivery system at Futian Port today (Oct 23), where users with Hong Kong phone numbers can also place orders and pick up food. 

Users can receive their orders at designated drop-off points in as little as 10 minutes after placing an order.

In partnership with WeChat Pay HK, the service allows Hong Kong residents to order via the Meituan app and pick up their items from the smart drop-off locker which is located 50 meters west of Gate Two at Futian Port. 

Popular brands like KFC and Heytea have joined the service. Payments are automatically converted from RMB to HKD with no extra service fees, and a limited-time promotion offers an HK$8 discount on purchases over HK$20.

Meituan advises users to check their order status in the app before going to pick it up.
