The Fanling kindergarten, ELCHK Cheung Wah Kindergarten, issued a notice to parents on Wednesday alerting them of an incident that saw a K1 student being followed by strangers after school.
According to the notice, a parent had reported to the school witnessing a K1 student being followed by a Mandarin-speaking woman at a park near Fanling Centre on Tuesday afternoon.
The parent was said to have immediately called out the woman, with the woman then backing away from the child and leaving the area with another man waiting nearby.
The school, in the notice, called on parents to keep a close tab on their children when taking daily trips.
On Wednesday morning, the Sheung Shui police district stepped up patrols in Fanling, also dispatching plainclothes officers outside the kindergarten.
