The MTR Corporation said the train services from Mong Kok East to Tai Wai are suspended due to “a person on the track” at Kowloon Tong Station on Monday morning.
It was learned that at around 11.11 pm, a person had entered the Kowloon Tong Station track area, leading to the suspension of the services.
The police and firefighters were alerted to the scene and found a body about 100 meters from the rear of the train, nearing the station.
It was learned that the body belonged to a 28-year-old man surnamed Yeung. No suicide note was found at the scene.
Trains from Admiralty and Mong Kok East, Tai Wai and Lo Wu, along with Tai Po Market and Lok Ma Chau, operated at 8 to 20-minute intervals.
Trains from Mong Kok East to Tai Wai were halted entirely due to the incident.
MTR added that free shuttle bus services have been arranged for passengers from Kowloon Tong and Tai Wai Station. Passengers were also urged to consider taking other transport.
The service gradually resumed at 12.12 pm after the incident.
