Three men arrested for assault in Mong Kok

Three people were arrested after a video went viral on Monday of an attack against a defenseless man in Mong Kok.

Three days ago (Feb 19), a video went viral showing a man in white surrounded and attacked by three to four men in Mong Kok, with them punching his face with their fists.

A police spokesman stated that early Monday morning (Feb 19), they received a call from a 30-year-old man who said that while driving along Mong Kok Road, there was a man who did not adhere to the traffic rules and crossed the road.

The driver stopped the vehicle to argue with the man, who later claimed to be a triad member.

Later, three more men came forward, and the four men attacked Lee, damaging his sedan, before fleeing the scene.

After police conducted an in-depth investigation, they arrested a 42-year-old man named Wan and a 46-year-old named Lai in Mong Kok for claiming to be an office-bearer of a triad society, assault and criminal damage.

The officers continued their investigation and arrested one more 17-year-old for claiming to be an office-bearer of a triad society, assault and criminal damage.

The teen is currently remanded in police custody, bringing the total number of arrests to three.

The police have stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that more arrests cannot be ruled out.

The two men previously arrested are out on bail and are required to report to the police late in March.
