A 22-year-old man was arrested on Monday night after he had slashed his stepfather who was drenched in blood and seen rushing out of the elevator running for his life in Mong Kok.
This came as police received a report from the security guard at Kwong Yuen Building around 10.24 pm that a man sustaining multiple knife wounds was bleeding profusely.
Officers soon arrived at the scene and found another man in his 20s. They suspected the young man was connected to the attack and arrested him for wounding after preliminary investigation.
The stepfather was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a semi-conscious state. Police also found a 49-year-old woman in the flat and sent her to Kwong Wah Hospital.
Police said the three are Vietnamese, the young man is aged 22 and the stepfather 54. The son and the stepfather had an argument over moving into a new home and the son then grabbed a 20cm-long ceramic knife to slash the stepfather.
The stepfather sustained multiple knife wounds and fled his home taking the elevator. He then sought help from the security guard who filed a police report.
The mother also sustained injuries when trying to stop her son who went in a frenzy.
The case was listed as wounding and was passed to Mong Kok district crime investigation team.
