Gang of men launch violent raid on Mong Kok mahjong parlor, one arrested

Police were alerted to Mong Kok on Monday morning after multiple men stormed a mahjong parlor and began to cause violent havoc.

Around 11.46 am today, a male employee from a mahjong parlor on Fa Yuen Street in Mong Kok contacted the police to report that multiple men wearing black and holding wooden sticks and umbrellas had rushed into the location.

The men fled the scene after destroying multiple tables and chairs.

The West Kowloon police anti-triad unit was alerted to the scene and arrested a man nearby who was suspected to be related to the crime.

Officers also entered the parlor to continue their investigation.

It is understood that the mahjong parlor in question is under the watch of local triad group Wo Shing Wo and had been the location of another incident on July 30 of this year.
