91 pc of pupils get top three secondary school picks

Results for this year's Secondary School Place Allocation will be announced on Tuesday (Jul 11), with 91 percent of students allocated their top three choices, according to the Education Bureau.

A total of 50,508 pupils were allocated to local secondary schools in two stages.

The bureau stated that among the first batch of students allocated via discretionary placement based on factors such as academic performance, 68 percent of them got their first choice.

While for the computer-based central allocation, about 85 percent were allocated their first three choices, with 66 percent given their first choice in schools.

All primary six students participating in the allocation will have to return to their school to get the allocation and admission slips and then report to their assigned secondary schools either this Thursday or Friday.
