The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced that the city welcomed approximately 3.8 million visitors in April, marking a 13 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Arrivals from Mainland, short-haul and long-haul markets all showed a double-digit year-on-year growth, said the board.
From January to April this year, Hong Kong recorded a cumulative total of 16 million visitor arrivals, reflecting a 10 percent year-on-year increase.
The Tourism Board noted that the upward trend has been sustained across multiple source markets, with significant growth observed in several key regions.
Tourist arrivals from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia each surged by more than 20 percent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Australia stood out with an exceptional increase of over 30 percent in visitor numbers.
