Tai Po tragic fire prompts citywide event delays; Miriam Yeung to donate show earnings

Several weekend performances in Hong Kong have been postponed following the deadly No. 5 alarm fire at Tai Po’s Wang Fuk Court, which left multiple residents and a firefighter deceased.

Constance Chan’s acoustic show, “Constance’s Story That Never Ends – Acoustic Session”, scheduled for this Saturday (Nov 29) at the West Kowloon Cultural District, has been cancelled. Shino Lin’s concert with Joey Tang Kin Ming, originally set for Sunday (Nov 30) at AquaBeat 03 in Kwun Tong, has been postponed, with updated arrangements to be announced.

Emperor Entertainment announced today that the three scheduled shows by Arvin Tsang Ngo-fei, Angela Hui Ching-wan and Ken Hung Cheuk-lap at MacPherson Stadium will be postponed, with new arrangements to be announced later. The organizers offered condolences to the victims and expressed appreciation for ticket holders’ understanding.

Miriam Yeung Chin-wah’s “Live MY LIVE 2025” shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum, starting November 29, will proceed as scheduled due to production and scheduling constraints. To show support in light of the tragedy, Yeung will cancel all pyrotechnic effects, donate her first-night proceeds and all merchandise profits to local fundraising platforms such as Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and urge fans to redirect flower-basket budgets to disaster-relief efforts.

The theatre production “Fragments of Solitude” has cancelled its media preview scheduled for Friday (Nov 28). The Windmill Grass Theatre, which produced the show, issued an apology to the media, expressed condolences to the fallen firefighters and victims, and conveyed hopes for a swift containment of the fire and a full recovery for the injured.

Many artists have stepped forward to support the victims. Former Miss Hong Kong Louisa Mak Ming-sze has offered to help care for infants from affected families as the city rallies behind those impacted.
