Dou took to Weibo on the evening of October 23, apologizing for the online commotion and urging the public not to believe or spread rumors.
He wrote: “Hello everyone! First, I apologize for the online noise over the past two days taking up public attention. We originally did not want to respond to these unfounded topics, but the situation has become increasingly exaggerated. Please do not believe or spread rumors. Thank you.”
Ho later shared Dou’s post, adding that while she appreciates public concern, the stability of their relationship does not need to be publicly displayed. She affirmed that their marriage is stable and called for an end to the spread of false information.
Marriage Under the Microscope
Ho, hailed as the “prettiest heiress” of the late Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho Hung-sun, has long been in the public eye, with media attention intensifying after her marriage to Dou.
The couple, who married in Bali in 2023 with a lavish wedding after four years of dating, have faced ongoing speculation online, including reports that Dou refused to sign a prenuptial agreement and that the couple lives apart due to work commitments.
Online rumors suggested Dou spent HK$50–80 million on this wedding, but netizens revealed Ho’s mother actually covered HK$50 million, with Dou contributing only HK$5 million, as he could not access family funds.
Since their wedding, Ho has revealed that the couple has spent long periods apart, keeping in touch mainly via video and phone calls, which has fueled further media speculation.
