Cantopop star Sammi Cheng, 53, has revealed she suffered a back injury requiring hospital treatment and mobility assistance.
The singer shared on her Instagram Stories on Thursday that she injured her back approximately ten days ago. An MRI scan revealed two torn areas, though her lumbar spine remained unaffected.
Cheng documented her hospital visit, showing staff pushing her in a wheelchair due to severe pain during transportation. Additional footage showed the artist using crutches at home, noting the discomfort left her "even buttoning clothes incorrectly."
After more than ten days of home rest focused on lying down, Cheng reported significant improvement. She has now resumed light exercise, acknowledging the experience taught her to avoid pushing herself too hard.
The injury comes as Cheng prepares for a November concert with Hins Cheung. Despite recent challenges, she and husband Andy Hui have maintained a supportive relationship, notably seen together at recent "Big Four" concerts.
