A pilot program to re-provision the checkpoint of Chung Ying Street will be launched in the fourth quarter of the year, Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung said Sunday.

During his visit this morning, the secretary chief confirmed that the installation and testing of the facial recognition system has reached the final stages.
He noted that the technology would facilitate smoother passage for individuals entering and exiting the area.
The project was proposed in last year's policy address and aims to improve the checkpoint's capacity to handle pedestrian traffic, aligning with future tourism development plans.
