Armed officers on guard after crash involving armored van on Tuen Mun Road

Armed police officers in helmets and bullet-proof vests were seen standing guard on Tuen Mun Road following a traffic incident involving an armored van and a private car on Tuesday morning. 

The incident took place on Tuen Mun Road near Ting Kau around 10 am as the black private car was seen completely blocking the fast lane on the right after the collision. 

The front of the car was severely damaged and the driver sustained an injury to his neck but refused to be sent to hospital as rescuers were called to the scene. 

The rear of the armored van was also damaged as armed police officers in helmets and bullet-proof vests soon arrived to stand guard in the area. 

A police investigation is now underway. 

Tthe Transport Department later announced that part of the lanes of Tuen Mun Road (Tuen Mun bound) near Ting Kau which was closed due to the accident has been re-opened to all traffic.
