The Hong Kong Arts Development Council condemned a cyber security incident discovered last Friday (Apr 26) which caused some operational disruptions and said no leakage or misuse of any data has been found yet.

“HKADC has activated its emergency response system to block further intrusion and appointed cyber security experts to conduct a thorough system inspection and recovery and conduct an assessment on the impact of the incident,” the statement issued on Monday read.
“As of now, leakage or misuse of any data, including information of the applicants of different grant schemes, has not been detected.”
HKADC said it always attaches great importance to cyber security and personal data privacy and has taken immediate measures, including reviewing and strengthening the security of computer network and systems and revisiting the daily operation process of staff members.
The case has been reported to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data as well as the police.
The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau has also been informed of this cyber security incident.
