Man arrested for assaulting mother with scissors in Kwai Chung

A man in his 30s was arrested after he assaulted his mother with a pair of scissors at their home in Kwai Chung Estate on the morning of the fifth day of the Lunar New Year on Wednesday. 

The incident occurred around 10.30 am at Tsz Kwai House and the mother, bleeding, swiftly fled the home to file a police report after the violent encounter. 

Police soon came and arrested the man for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. 

The mother was sent to Yan Chai Hospital and police seized the scissors used by the man, who continued to remain emotional following the arrest. He was later sent to hospital as well. 

A police investigation is now underway.
