Man found inappropriately touching boy in Tuen Mun park

Parents are urged to be diligent as a strange man was recorded touching a primary school boy in Tuen Mun in a recent video that was posted online.

In the minute-long video that went online, which was recorded at night, showed a middle-aged man sitting on a bench at Tai Hing Park in Tuen Mun, with a young boy in a yellow shirt sitting on his lap and playing on his phone.

The middle-aged man was seen hugging the young boy on his lap, who was concentrating on gaming.

At one point, the man attempted to touch the boy but was pushed away by the boy using his other hand.

The witness who felt suspicious went forward to question the boy, who admitted that the middle-aged man was not a family member.

He also asked the boy if the man had touched him, but he could not answer as he did not know what the issue was as he was just focused on gaming.

The onlooker stated that he had already reported the case to the police, and urged parents to take care of their kids and keep an eye out on the man.

Locals who recognized the man said that the suspicious man often loitered around parks and tailed both boys and girls.

After receiving a report yesterday (Jan 18) around 8 pm and conducting an in-depth investigation, the Tuen Mun police district arrested a 39-year-old Chinese man in Tai Hing Estate around 2 pm today, who is suspected to be involved in the incident.

The case has been handed over to the Tuen Mun police district for follow-up.
