The MTR Corporation said the train services from Sheung Shui to Tai Wai were suspended due to “a person on the track” at Kowloon Tong Station on Sunday afternoon, the second time in one day.
It was learned that shortly before 4 pm, a person had entered the East Rail Line Kowloon Tong Station track area, leading to the suspension of the services.
The police and firefighters were alerted to the scene and found the woman unconscious under the train near the direction of Admiralty.
The woman was later rescued and rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The police are currently investigating the woman's identity and the cause of the incident.
Trains from Admiralty to Mong Kok East operated at 8-minute intervals, while trains from Tai Wai to Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau operated at 15-minute intervals.
Trains from Mong Kok East to Tai Wai were halted entirely due to the incident.
Free shuttle bus services have been arranged for the passengers, MTR added. Passengers were also urged to consider taking other transport or switching to other lines.
This is the second disruption of the day, following the incident where a passenger was struck by a train after entering the East Rail Line Fanling Station track area around 12.50 pm today.
