Five men aged 26 to 63 were arrested in relation to a video in which they are seen beating up and slapping three security guards who had impounded their cars for illegal parking in Shan King Estate in Tuen Mun.

The video circulated on the internet recently and soon drew the police’s attention. One of the guards is seen being slapped four times in a row by those men who claim to be from the triad society Sun Yee On.
Chief Inspector Au Yeung Tak of the New Territories North Regional Crime Wing said police received reports in the early hours of Wednesday of the three guards being attacked by three of the five men who were unhappy over their impounded vehicles outside King Lok House.
The guards sustained bruises and scratches to their bodies and were hospitalized. They were later discharged after treatment.
As the New Territories North anti-triad unit took over the case, officers alongside the Tuen Mun anti-triad unit arrested five men aged between 26 and 63 on Wednesday and Thursday.
Au noted that the five were arrested on suspicion of acting as an office-bearer of a triad society, conspiracy to wound with intent and abetting criminals. Police also towed away one of the vehicles impounded that day and seized their phones, Au added.
Police also arrested another seven people in Lok Ma Chau, Tuen Mun and at Castle Peak on Thursday and Friday, including the person in charge of Sun Yee On’s turf in Tuen Mun and his three assistants aged 33 to 61.
They were also arrested for acting as an office-bearer of a triad society, conspiracy to wound with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
So far, police have arrested 12 people in connection to the case. Officers added that they may make more arrests.
Police have started a four-day operation targeting triad societies and their members in Tuen Mun on Thursday night and Police Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee was spotted overseeing the operation at the scene in person.
