A worker found a suspected bomb in the flower rack in Tuen Mun Wu Shan Riverside Park.
He reported it to the police. Officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, sealing off the area nearby.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau was also there for assistance. They detonated the explosive four hours later, which made a loud sound. Explosive fragments were left around the scene.
Tuen Mun district councillor Tsang Kam-wing said a grass-cutting worker found a suspected explosive near the rubbish bin.
“Police arrived and sealed off the cycling track and the park,” Tsang added.
