There will also be no Christmas tree installation in Statue Square, Central this year.
The board said the decision was made in view of the tightened social distancing measures to suppress the spread of the coronavirus as a fourth wave of the pandemic hits Hong Kong.
Hong Kong’s traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks display has been called off last year due to social unrest, the first time in its 10-year history.
