Pastor says visa hurdle for Chan Tong-kai's Taiwan surrender

Chan Tong-kai will not be able to hand himself over to Taiwan authorities by the deadline becaue of visa problems, the pastor helping him told the media, while pleading with the mother of Poon Hiu-wing to be understanding.

Reverend Peter Koon said Chan has not been able to get a visa to Taiwan.

Rev Koon said Chan feels frustrated as a result.

It is not that Tong-kai is unwilling to return to Taiwan, but “there is just no way to get a visa yet, which is why he can’t set off today,” Rev Koon told the media.
“Tong-kai feels frustrated too, and hopes Poon’s mum will understand.”

The murdered Poon Hiu-wIng's mother has said he is willing to mediate in the possible surrender of China and urged Taiwan and Hong Kong to inform her today.
