Lyricist creates K11-inspired poetry

K11 ARTUS has invited Hong Kong lyricist Chow Yiu-fai as its fifth artist to its The Artisanal Home program.

Chow was the first lyricist to win the Taiwanese Golden Song Award for his Cantonese work.

The program asks artists to draw inspiration from the specially designed artisanal residency and produce a work of art that reflects their immersive experience.

Chow is a professor in the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing at Baptist University. His Cantonese work, Homo Sapiens, sung by Eason Chan, won the best lyricist award in 2023.

The award was recognized as the equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

Inspired by his residency at K11 ARTUS, the Hong Kong-based lyricist and scholar created a digital poetry book, 11 pm, Where Are You? including 11 stories and soundtracks evoked at 11pm on 11 evenings.

Filmmaker Man Lim-Chung, writer and illustrator Sophia Hotung, figurative portrait artist Brendan Fitzpatrick, and conductor Wilson Ng are program alumni.
