In Broad Daylight leads nominations

The nominees for the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards have been announced.

In Broad Daylight, directed by Lawerence Kan, was nominated in 16 categories - the most among 50 films - including for best film, best actor, best actress and best screenplay.

Kan will also compete for the best director with four other nominees -- Nick Cheuk (Time Still Turns the Pages), Soi Cheang (Mad Fate), Felix Chong (The Goldfinger) and Jack Ng (A Guilty Conscience). The Goldfinger and Time Still Turns The Pages each received 12 nominations.

Bowie Lam (In Broad Daylight), Lo Chun-yip (Time Still Turns The Pages), Tony Leung Chiu-wai (The Goldfinger), Dayo Wong (A Guilty Conscience) and Dong Chengpeng (Dust to Dust) will compete for best actor.

Kay Tse (Band Four), Michelle Wai (Ready O/R Rot), Jennifer Yu (In Broad Daylight), Louise Wong (A Guilty Conscience) and Chung Suet-ying (The Lyricist Wannabe) are competing for best actress. The awards ceremony will be held on April 14 in the Grand Theatre at Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
