A Japanese king is back in Hong Kong. New models of Toyota All-new Alphard and Vellfire debuted in Repulse Bay recently.
The first generation of Alphard was launched in 2002. With its unique cabin layout, it quickly became the pioneer of the luxury MPV class.
Later on, the birth of Vellfire added youthful vigor to the model, and it dominated the luxury MPV market, making it the first choice for the daily commute or business trips.
Twenty years later, the fourth generations of the Alphard and Vellfire are even more advanced in terms of appearance, equipment and performance.
A total of eight models are available to meet the needs of business and family customers - including Alphard 250, 350 and Executive Lounge, and Vellfire 250 and 350, with both series featuring HEV hybrid models for customers to choose from according to their driving and traveling needs.
Both series see prices start at HK$799,860 for the entry-level 250 version, HK$999,920 for the 350 version, and over HK$1 million for the HEV and Executive Lounge.
Symbolic of Japanese hospitality, omotenashi, the MPVs feature details that promise utmost luxury; they are just like an extension of the driver and passengers' homes.
Inheriting the signature grille of the family, Alphard has a formal and elegant silhouette with exclusive LED Bi-beam head lamps, an LED sequential turn signal lamp and a rear combination lamp, all continuing the legacy of the monumental MPVs.
Vellfire enjoys all of the design, but with a sporty and dynamic silhouette.
The recreation equipment features a 14-inch touchscreen with a navigation system and Apple CarPlay, a JBL premium audio system with 15 speakers, and a 14-inch rear screen with remote control, allowing passengers to enjoy a wonderful audio-visual experience at any time and anywhere.
The second-row ottoman leather seats with power adjustable seat backs, reading lamps and twin moon roofs are fitted perfectly.
New vehicles follow the previous generation of TNGA (GA-K) chassis, but the frame stiffness has been increased by 50 percent.
The body has been lengthened by 50mm to 4,995mm and raised by 40mm to 1,935mm.
Although the wheelbase has been maintained at 3 meters, the seating space has been increased.
Alphard 350, Vellfire 350 and Alphard Executive Lounge are equipped with 2.4 liter turbocharged engines, while HEV versions feature a dynamic force engine. HEV series is armed with an NiMH battery to guarantee excellent driving and energy performance.
The all-new Alphard and Vellfire are fortified with genuine Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard to ensure a safe and secure driving experience.
Three new safety systems - proactive driving assist, blind spot monitor and safe exit assist - have been introduced for the first time in Toyota vehicles in Hong Kong, further improving driving safety technology.
Parking support brake and 360-degree panoramic view monitor are standard items, allowing drivers to observe the terrain and obstacles without any blind spots.
