Former chief executive Leung Chun-ying hurried back to Hong Kong Saturday night and left behind a business delegation in Nansha to participate in his eldest son Leung Chuen-yan's wedding.
The 69-year-old Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee vice chairman took to Facebook to announce the news, as the wedding was held at their home.
Photos showed that Leung Chuen-yan and his Finnish wife Mimmi Mononen, a doctor in life science, knelt down before his father and mother Regina Leung for a tea ceremony. "The couple met when they were doing research in Karolinska Institute - a medical university in Sweden - while Mimmi Mononen has also worked in Shanghai," Leung said.
Congratulations poured in from politicians and former government officials.
