On Tuesday, a customer posted a complaint on social media about an instant noodle with cheese chicken steak he ordered in a cha chaan teng in Prince Edward.
The customer labeled the cheese sauce as white liquid, and the chicken steak was like snowing dead chicken, which signifies the restaurant's poor food quality.
To counter the harsh comments, the restaurant owner posted clips of him from its security camera, without pixelation. The owner also labeled the patron as Mr Four Eyes as he wore glasses. Yet online users sided with the customer and criticized the restaurant owner over the disclosure.
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data said if security cameras are installed for non-security purposes, publicly disclosing it on the Internet may constitute a violation of data protection.
