Ken Ho King-yeung, the director of Investigation for the Independent Commission Against Corruption, passed away on Sunday after battling with illness.
His death has brought profound sadness to ICAC Commissioner Woo Ying-ming and the entire organization.
Ho, 57, joined the ICAC in 1996 as an investigation officer and played a crucial role in uncovering numerous cases of police corruption. Recognized for his exceptional work, he was promoted to the position of chief investigation officer in 2003.
In a noteworthy achievement, Ho became the first ICAC investigator to be assigned to the British police force, where he worked as an observer for six months in 2004.
