Time for music with a twist

The Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra will present its Annual Gala Concert tomorrow at 8pm in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

It takes the audience on a kaleidoscopic journey through time, technology, film, music, text and computer graphics.

The concert will start with Danse Macabre by French composer Saint-Saens.

A silent horror movie of the same name created in 1922 by American director Dudley Murphy will be played simultaneously.

A system that employs the latest AI models built by HKBU computer scientists will be applied to bring the bygone century back to present times.

Award-winning pianist Wong Chiyan, Australian computer graphics artist and musician Andrew Quinn, and mixed choir Cantoria Hong Kong will join the orchestra in presenting a musical feast.

The concert aims to provide a new vision of heaven and earth through selections of music and visual elements according to concepts of life and death.
