Eleven people were injured after a private car and a green minibus collided at the junction of Castle Peak Road and Tuen Fu Road near the Tuen Mun Water Treatment Works on Monday night.
The accident occurred around 10pm. The car's front end was heavily damaged with its windshield shattered, while the minibus sustained damage to its headlights and bumper. A total of 11 people suffered minor injuries – two from the car and nine from the minibus.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene to treat the injured and arrange hospitalisation. Sawdust was spread to clean up fuel leaks.
The section of Castle Peak Road towards Yuen Long near Tuen Fu Road was fully closed. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
