Hong Kong Customs arrested four passengers at Hong Kong International Airport on Wednesday and Thursday, seizing about 36 kilograms of suspected ketamine and 21 kilograms of suspected cannabis buds worth a total of about HK$19 million, authorities said.
Two British nationals, a 20-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, arriving from London on Wednesday were found with about 36 kilograms of suspected ketamine in their suitcases. The man was also found with four suspected alternative smoking products.
A 25-year-old Malaysian man arriving from Bangkok on Wednesday was found with about 10 kilograms of suspected cannabis buds. A 21-year-old local woman arriving from Bangkok on Thursday was found with about 11 kilograms of suspected cannabis buds.
The Malaysian man has been charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts on Thursday. Investigations into the other cases are ongoing.
