Hong Kong Customs seized about 12.4 kilogrammes of suspected ketamine with an estimated market value of over HK$5 million at Hong Kong International Airport on Monday.
Customs officers inspected an air parcel arriving from Spain via France, declared as swimming pool sanitisers. The suspected drugs were found inside four plastic buckets in the parcel.
Following a controlled delivery operation on Tuesday, a 23-year-old local woman was arrested in Kwun Tong. The investigation is ongoing.
Customs warned that trafficking in dangerous drugs carries a maximum penalty of HK$5 million and life imprisonment.
