2 kilograms of cannabis seized in Sau Mau Ping traffic stop, driver arrested

A 28-year-old man was arrested on Monday night after police found about two kilograms of suspected cannabis in his car during a traffic stop in Sau Mau Ping, authorities said.

Officers from the Sau Mau Ping district uniform patrol team set up a roadblock on Hong Ning Road as part of an anti-crime operation when they spotted a suspicious private car around 9pm.

Following a search, police discovered the suspected cannabis in the vehicle. The driver, surnamed Tao, was arrested on suspicion of trafficking dangerous drugs and is being detained for investigation. The case has been handed over to the Sau Mau Ping district criminal investigation team.
