The incident happened at around 12.05pm when a truck turned from Tong Mi Road into Larch Street. The right tailgate was not properly secured and swung open as the vehicle was moving.
Footage shows the tailgate hitting a man standing by the roadside and knocking him to the ground. The truck did not stop and drove away.
Police said a 50-year-old driver had parked his truck along Larch Street, while a 62-year-old driver had parked another truck behind it and was unloading goods.
