14 arrested in Mong Kok anti-illegal worker, vice operation

Police and immigration officers arrested 14 people during a joint operation targeting illegal immigrants and workers in Mong Kok on Monday.

Codenamed "CHAMPION," the inter-departmental operation involved raids at multiple locations following intelligence and investigation.

Twelve mainland Chinese women and one foreign woman, aged between 18 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of "breach of conditions of stay." A 33-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of "employing a person not lawfully employable" for allegedly hiring an illegal worker.

All detainees are being held for investigation, with some to be handed over to the Immigration Department for follow-up.
