Police seek domestic helper over $100k suspected theft from Kai Ching Estate flat

A 39-year-old foreign domestic helper is being sought by police in connection with the theft of more than HK$100,000 in valuables from a flat in Kai Ching Estate, Kowloon Bay.

The case came to light at around 10pm on Saturday (Mar 7) when the 74-year-old female resident of a Hong Ching House flat reported the missing items to police.

According to the resident, a collection of gold jewelry and cash was missing from her home, which she suspected had been stolen.

Police officers who responded to the scene conducted a preliminary inventory and found that the missing items included gold ornaments valued at about HK$59,000 and approximately HK$57,000 in cash.

The case has been classified as theft, and no arrests have been made as of this morning.
