Police have arrested three construction workers on suspicion of stealing jewelry valued at approximately HK$90,000 while they were carrying out reinforcement works at a flat in Wang Fuk Court yesterday afternoon.
Officers from the Tai Po Police District spotted the three men, aged between 32 and 38, behaving suspiciously while conducting reinforcement works at a unit in Wang Tai House around 1.30pm on March 5. During a subsequent investigation, police recovered stolen jewelry worth about HK$90,000 from their possession.
The trio was arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft and is currently being detained for further questioning. The case has been handed over to the Tai Po Police District Regional Crime Unit for follow-up investigation.
Following the arrests, police conducted additional inspections at other units where the three workers had previously carried out renovation work within Wang Fuk Court. No further discoveries have been reported at this time.
