Anti-crime operation in Mong Kok nets 3 men, nearly 800 checked

Police arrested three local men and checked nearly 800 people during an anti-crime operation in Mong Kok on Thursday codenamed "LEVINGTON."

Officers from the Mong Kok district operations unit, anti-triad squad, licensing branch, and Kowloon West Emergency Unit raided 19 premises across the district. They stopped and questioned 395 men and 393 women for inspection.

Three local men aged 26 to 63 were arrested at separate locations – an amusement game center on Argyle Street and mahjong parlors on Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street. Two of them were arrested on suspicion of "failing to produce proof of identity." The third man was a wanted person for outstanding fines.

All three are being detained for investigation.
