An off-duty police officer has been charged with voyeurism after allegedly filming a woman on an escalator at MTR Lai King Station last year.
Police received a report from a station staff member around 11pm on August 1, 2025, that a 27-year-old woman was suspected of being secretly filmed by a man on an escalator. The case was handled by the New Territories South regional crime unit.
Following an investigation and review of CCTV footage, officers arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of voyeurism. After seeking legal advice, he has been charged with one count of "unlawful recording or observation of intimate parts."
The man, a police officer, has been suspended from duty. The case will be heard at Sha Tin Magistrates' Courts on Tuesday morning.
Police emphasized that the force places great importance on officers' conduct and will not tolerate or condone any illegal behavior, handling such matters strictly.
