Dog found dead in Lok Ma Chau in suspected poisoning case

A dog was found dead in Lok Ma Chau on Monday evening in a suspected poisoning, with police investigating the case as animal cruelty.

Police received a report from the dog's owner at around 6pm on the eve of Lunar New Year. The owner discovered the animal lying on open ground at Liu Pok Road and suspected it had been poisoned.

Officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the dog had died. After initial investigations, the case was classified as "cruelty to animals" and has been taken over by the criminal investigation team of the Border District. No arrests have been made yet.

The dog's body has been handed over to relevant authorities for further examination.
