Officer hospitalized as motor-trike flips responding to collision in Tsim Sha Tsui

A police officer was hospitalized after his motor tricycle overturned while responding to a three-vehicle collision in Tsim Sha Tsui. 

The crash occurred around 10am on the Canton Road flyover heading towards Jordan Road, involving a light goods vehicle and two 5.5-tonne trucks. 

Police promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the report. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the collision. 

However, approximately 13 minutes later, a traffic officer riding a motor tricycle arriving to assist accidentally overturned. 

The officer reportedly sustained a waist injury and was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.

Images circulating online show that the three involved vehicles had already left the flyover, leaving the overturned motor tricycle lying on its side amid scattered debris, as fellow officers attended to their injured colleague. 

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
