Hong Kong’s biggest annual sporting event, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026, takes place this Sunday with over 70,000 runners taking part.
International film star Chow Yun-fat is once again drawing attention. The 70-year-old has registered for the 10 km race under the name “CHOW Yun Fat,” according to the official participant list, marking a return to the shorter distance after competing in the half-marathon the past two years.

This year, he is expected to share the 10 km course with Secretary for Justice Paul Lam Ting-kwok, who also signed up for the same category, adding extra excitement to the event.
Chow first tackled the 10 km in 2023, finishing in 1 hour 3 minutes 58 seconds.
He switched to the half-marathon in 2024, completing it in 2 hours 26 minutes 8 seconds, then improved to 2 hours 24 minutes 33 seconds last year.
His consistent participation highlights his dedication to long-distance running, and fans are now watching to see if he can set a new personal best this weekend.
