Nearly a month after the devastating An0.5 fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, a touching story has emerged of a Kowloon Motor Bus driver seeking to reunite with young passengers affected by the blaze.
The driver of route 71K posted on social media, hoping to find several kindergarten children who used to board his bus daily at around 12.15pm from the Tai Po Market bus stop for their afternoon sessions.
He noted that since the fire, the children had stopped appearing, though he learned they were safe.
With Christmas approaching, he prepared small gifts to show his care and asked parents to contact him.
The post touched many online users, who praised the driver's kindness and urged the company to value such dedicated staff.
KMB's official social media page later shared a positive update, announcing that the driver had successfully connected with the parents.
The driver prepared Christmas gifts to convey concern and blessings, and the company thanked the driver for his thoughtful care toward passengers and for spreading festive warmth.
Netizens celebrated the happy outcome, commending drivers on the 71K route for their patience and friendliness toward elderly riders and children alike, highlighting their professionalism and human touch.
