Results of Primary One discretionary places for September 2026 were announced on Monday morning, with parents early preparing to secure their preferred schools for children.
A total of 37,581 children applied for discretionary places this year, with an overall success rate of 52.3 percent, an increase of 2.9 percent compared to last year.
At La Salle Primary School, one parent expressed happiness for their son’s successful admission, noting that the father is a graduate of the school and received extra points during the application, which boosted their confidence in securing a spot.
Another parent was disappointed that their son did not succeed in the allocation, adding that they had already arranged tutoring in English Language and Mathematics, as well as other extracurricular classes for him.
The Education Bureau reminded that parents can bring along their copy of the paper Application Form for Primary One Admission (POA) and check the results from 9am to 5pm today at the school they applied to.
Parents who have already activated their POA e-platform (ePOA) account are advised to check the results via the platform from 10am.
They should register their children on Wednesday (Nov 26) or Thursday (Nov 27) at the school to which they have applied during school hours.
