Wong Tai Sin District Special Duty Squad officers arrested an 18-year-old local woman on Thursday night for allegedly operating a drug den from a Wang Tau Hom Estate flat.
Acting on intelligence and after thorough investigation, officers intercepted the woman outside the estate unit at about 10pm. A subsequent search of her residence uncovered seven suspected etomidate cartridges, one glass bottle containing suspected etomidate liquid, and eleven packages totaling approximately 24 grams of suspected mixed narcotics commonly known as "Happy Powder."
The seized drugs have an estimated street value of HK$14,000. Preliminary investigation led to the woman's arrest on suspicion of "trafficking dangerous drugs." She remains in custody while the investigation continues under Special Duty Squad Team 1 of Wong Tai Sin District .
Police emphasized that drug trafficking is a serious offense under Chapter 134 of the Hong Kong Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, carrying a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a HK$5 million fine upon conviction. The public is urged not to violate the law.
