To provide the young generation in the legal profession with more opportunities to express their views on topics pertinent to their legal practice, the Young Solicitors' Group (YSG) has organized a pitching day, attracting a record number of eight teams to participate.
The YSG Think Tank 2025 Pitching Day -- with the theme of "Balancing Protection and Innovation: The Future of Sports IP in Hong Kong" -- was held on Saturday (Jul 26).
President of the Law Society Roden Tong Man-lung highlighted the vital role of the legal profession in fostering growth and sustainability in the sports sector through a robust legal framework.
The winning team's solution, presented by "The IP Athletes" comprising Chiu Chung-hei, Law Ka-hei, Sharon Tam Suet-yan and Wong Ka-Lee, was a forward-looking legal framework that enables monetization of sports data while promoting responsible data access for AI development.
The judging panel said the solution has struck a balance between protecting investment and accelerating innovation.
Team "Money Ball" and Team "Aura Attorneys" were awarded first and second runner-up, respectively.
