Cheung Chau Bun Scrambling Final scheduled for May 5

The Bun Scrambling Final, the grand finale of the 2025 Bun Carnival, is scheduled for next Monday (May 5) night on Cheung Chau, with free tickets available starting at 10pm that evening.

A total of 12 finalists will compete for the Full Pockets of Lucky Buns awards in both the men’s and women’s divisions at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground at midnight by tradition.

The event will commence with an opening ceremony at 11.30pm on May 5, and four designated spectator zones will be set up to accommodate around 1,650 people.

The public can obtain free admission tickets at Pak She First Lane and along Ping Chong Road. Each person will receive one ticket on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

To facilitate members of the public to leave after the competition, the ferry company will operate a special service from Cheung Chau to Central at 1.15am on May 6 (Tuesday).

Additionally, bus route No. 104R with run special services from Central Pier No. 5 to Mong Kok from around 1.10am to 2.30am.

The organizers noticed that the event may be canceled due to inclement weather for public safety, and there will be no rescheduling of the competition.
